Instructions for participants
There are two ways to use the National Mock Exams in PE 2024:
- Request the PDF version of the paper(s) and have your students answer them on paper. This methodology does not include the automated analysis of individual student performance on TheEverLearner.com nor the National Diagnostic Report, which comes separately.
- Set your National Mock Exam via ExamSimulator and have them answer the paper EITHER online or on paper (printable). By doing this, you will receive automated analysis of student performance and the National Diagnostic Report.
***The window for the National Mock exam has now closed.***
Still not sure? Let James explain below:
Want to use ExamSimulator (online or printable)?

What is The National Diagnostic Report?
PE departments that choose to set the National Mock Exam through ExamSimulator (online or as a printable exam) will also receive a National Diagnostic Report detailing statistics about their students' performance not only within their school but also at centre, individual student and individual question level, in comparison to national data. (Please note, all marking must be submitted online by 2nd April 2024 in order to be included in the national reports.)
How does it work?
- As soon as a school registers for a National Mock Exam, a member of our team will add that school to the relevant exam session on TheEverLearner.com. This does not happen automatically so there may be a delay between registering and having the exams available.
- Schools will then be able to assign their exams via ExamSimulator product to the relevant groups.
- The exam can be assigned as either a 'printable' exam (students complete on paper) or an 'online' exam (students complete like any other EverLearner exam).
- Once the exam session ends (on 1st March 2024), the mark scheme will become available and the teacher can commence marking the exam.
- For 'printable' exams, the teacher must manually mark the papers and then enter the marks directly into the assignment.
- For online exams, the marking is completed by the teacher through our assisted marking system and the marks are automatically recorded.
- In either situation, the student and teacher receive immediate performance feedback directly on TheEverLearner.com.
- Schools who complete their marking before 2nd April 2024 will receive a completely FREE National Diagnostic Report detailing statistics about their students' performance not only within their school but also at centre, individual student and individual question level, in comparison to national data.
The Timeline When Using ExamSimulator for your National Mock 2024
| Date | The ExamSimulator Route |
| Before "The Session" |
Make sure your students are in the correct groups. If students are officially allocated extra time for exams, ensure this entitlement is selected in the student profile. Make sure all students are able to log into the platform and know where to access exams within the ExamSimulator section of the website. If possible, give students at least one assessed exam to complete beforehand so they are completely familiar with the way in which the platform works. |
| 📅 6th February 2024 | Links to download the exam papers are emailed to all registered customers. |
| Exams become live on The EverLearner. | |
|
"The Session" (6th February 2024- 29th February 2024) |
Opens 📅 6th February 2024 |
|
Teachers set relevant exam assignments to start at any suitable point within "The Session". For 'printable' assignments, the paper can be printed and issued to the students to complete at any suitable time during "The Session" as directed by the teacher. For 'online' assignments, the exams are all completed under timed conditions through the platform and can only be set and completed once during "The Session". If a student misses the exam assignment for any reason, they will have to complete the a printable exam and will not be included in the diagnostics. At the starting time of the assignment, the exam will become available for your students to access like any other ExamSimulator assessed examination. Remember that once a student starts answering the exam, the timer will begin counting down and the exam with auto submit at the end of exam time. |

"Marking Window" (1st March 2024-2nd April 2024) |
For 'printable' assignments, teachers can begin marking the physical papers and entering the marks for each question into the exam assignment. For 'online' exams, teachers can begin marking directly on the platform through our assisted marking system. Marks are automatically fed into the assignment. Once each individual exam is "released", the student will get access to their individual results and bespoke, targeted feedback in the same way that they would for any ExamSimulator exam. |
| 📅 2nd April 2024 | Deadline for submission of results for inclusion in National Diagnostic Report (see below). Only schools who have completed the marking by this date will be eligible to receive this invaluable diagnostic. This is a hard deadline I'm afraid. |
| 📅 15th April 2024 | National Diagnostic Reports issued to qualifying schools. |
