Weavers Academy is a vibrant and inclusive 11–18 co‑educational school at the heart of the Wellingborough community. It is part of the Creative Education Trust. Weavers Academy offers a rich, traditional curriculum strengthened by exceptional opportunities in the arts, technology and sport. We spoke with Stefan Emary who at the time was the Director of Sport and PE. (Stefan is now the Director of Sport at Malcolm Arnold Academy.)
Helping students take ownership of learning at Weavers Academy
At Weavers Academy in Wellingborough, Stefan Emary and his team set out to raise aspirations and build a culture where students take responsibility for their own learning. Consistency was a challenge, especially during student absences or moments when teachers needed resources that kept lessons moving without interruption.
